Father Stamatis Skliris studied Medicine and Theology at the University of Athens and continued his studies in Belgrade, where he was a close disciple of St. Justin Popović. He was ordained a priest in 1979. His icons and frescoes adorn churches across Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, Herzegovina and the United States. His painting is known for reviving the Byzantine tradition through pure color, expressive light and a joyful, resurrectional treatment of the human face.
