This portrayal focuses on Christ at His most vulnerable: crucified, lifeless on the Epitaphion, yet declared the “King of Glory.” Through intense colors and expressive detail, the artist captures the paradox of Christ’s sacrifice, transforming the cross from a symbol of defeat into one of ultimate victory. Here, the artist’s free use of vivid hues redefines glory—not through power, but through the humility and sacrificial love of Christ’s lowest moment. This image invites reflection on the true glory found in the depth of self-giving love.

BRIDEGROOM
It’s no coincidence we call Him our Bridegroom. He is condemned, imprisoned, scapegoated, and humiliated while being the most innocent of all ages. There has never been anyone more innocent, nor can there ever be, for He created everything that exists, embodying self-existence and self-love. Ontologically, He has no relation to anything that could be called evil. He is the legislator of all natural laws by which someone could be deemed a transgressor and guilty. The God, both legislator and Judge, cannot possibly be considered guilty or liable. This ontology makes the trial of Jesus a parody and a forgery.
Therefore, this icon depicting the Lawgiver as a convicted felon represents the ultimate irony and tragic reversal. It thus vindicates Bishop Maxim, the iconographer who presents us with the captive God in the most revolutionary technique, where lines and colors seem to rebel and form a landmark image in the history of beauty. “We worship Your Passion, Christ. We worship the reversal of Your Love, Bridegroom. Oh, Most Great, You are the absolute surprise, our GREAT LOVE”!!!
ΝΥΜΦΙΟΣ
Δεν είναι τυχαίο που τον ονομάζουμε νυμφίο μας. Είναι  κατάδικος, κρατούμενος, αποδιοπομπαίος και εξευτελισμένος, ενώ είναι ο πιο αθώος όλων των αιώνων. Πιο αθώος δεν υπήρξε άλλος, αλλά ούτε είναι δυνατόν να υπάρξει, διότι Εκείνος δημιούργησε τα πάντα όσα υπάρχουν, είναι αυτούπαρξη και αυτοαγάπη. Οντολογικά δεν έχει καμία σχέση με οτιδήποτε θα μπορούσε να ονομαστή κακό, κι είναι νομοθέτης όλων των φυσικών νόμων με βάση τους οποίους θα μπορούσε να καταστεί κάποιος παραβάτης και ένοχος. Ο Θεός νομοθέτης και Κριτής είναι αδύνατο να καταστεί ένοχος και υπόδικος.  Η οντολογία αυτή καθιστά τη δίκη του Ιησού παρωδία και ψευδεπίγραφη.
Επομένως η Εικόνα αυτή που παριστάνει το Νομοθέτη βαρυποινίτη συνιστά τη μέγιστη ειρωνεία και τραγική ανατροπή. Δικαιώνει λοιπόν τον αγιογράφο Επίσκοπο ΜΑΞΙΜΟ που μας παρουσιάζει τον δέσμιο Θεό με την πιο ανατρεπτική τεχνοτροπία, όπου γραμμές και χρώματα σαν να επαναστατούν και σχηματίζουν μια εικόνα σταθμό στην ιστορία της ομορφιάς. “Προσκυνούμε Σου τα πάθη Χριστέ, προσκυνούμε την ανατροπή της Αγάπης Σου, Νυμφίε. Ω, Παμμέγιστε, είσαι η απόλυτη έκπληξη μεγάλε ΕΡΩΤΑ ΜΑΣ”!!!
